WINDS OF THE WEEK...
The breeze was stiff on Sunday with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. The chilly day came after a narrow band of snow fell overnight into early Sunday morning in parts of far southeast Iowa and northwest Illinois:

Winds will calm down overnight, but start to increase and turn out of the south Monday morning. Gusts of 30-35 mph will be likely in the afternoon:

Snow will melt as temperatures surge into the 60s Monday afternoon with the help of the wind:

There will be elevated fire danger in areas where the snow didn't fall as the air will be dry and dry conditions persist on the ground:

Winds will not be quite as strong on Tuesday but it will still be breezy:

Temperatures go even higher, ending up in the 70s:

A low pressure system will move in Tuesday night into Wednesday and lead to rain (possibly some storms) and increase winds once again.

Winds will pick up as the low moves across the region:

Rain will continue through the day with a changeover to some light snow possible late Wednesday night. Accumulation may not be very high as temperatures remain near/above freezing.

Thursday will be yet another breezy day with temperatures held in the 40s:

It will be breezy once again Friday as a storm system approaches and brings another chance for rain.
