WINDS BLOW IN RECORD WARMTH....
NOW MORE THAN EVER I NEED YOUR HELP WITH OPERATING EXPENSES
THE FUTURE OF THE SITE DEPENDS ON YOU.
Hi everyone, as you know, TSwails.com is a no-pay site; existing on voluntary subscriptions or personal donations. If you find value in the site, I'm asking kindly that you make the donation you feel is worthy. I'm suggesting $20.00, roughly a nickel a day. Less than 5% of my readers donate, so your gift is not only appreciated, it helps immensely. Your contribution, whatever you can swing, supports the content, infrastructure, and operational costs. Thanks for anything you can do.
WINDS BLOW IN RECORD WARMTH.... Winds will one again pick up on Sunday and temperatures will once again rise well above normal. Highs will be in the 70s in the afternoon:
Records will be going down for March 3rd (those that are in boxes), many of which were set in 1983:
The way to achieve this warmth will be through strong southerly winds:
The south wind is drawing in warmer air and also creating friction at the surface, helping to send temperatures up even higher. This is with a strong ridge (high pressure, warm air) in the upper levels of the atmosphere ahead of a cold front:
The cold front will sweep through on Monday and lead to the potential for showers and storms Monday afternoon and evening. There's some uncertainty with how much moisture will be available in eastern Iowa, but some scattered activity is not out of the question.
More widespread rain is expected east of the Mississippi in the higher moisture levels:
Temperatures get knocked back slightly but we still stay above normal next week.
