WHO SHUT OFF THE FAUCET?

Rain has been incredibly hard to come by across the month of September. Over the last 30 days there's been some rain in the region, but for some spots it's been VERY limited.

In fact, the Cedar Rapids airport hasn't recorded any rain since August 29th, not only sitting at the driest September on record, but on a 27 day stretch without measurable precipitation. We're likely going to go another six days without any rain which would take us to 33 days.

That would land in the top 15 driest stretches on record for Cedar Rapids. This would also mark the first time the entire month of September has had no precipitation.

All the way through the end of the month and into early October is expected to be dry. The remnants of Helene stay to the south east and a strong ridge (high pressure) will keep things quiet.

So through next Wednesday there's not much prospect for rain:

The precipitation chances remain low through the 10th of October:

The latest Drought Monitor released didn't bring huge change, but we're still running dry:

Someone needs to turn the faucet back on... not too much at once though!
