TURNING MORE ACTIVE...
It's been 11 days since we've had measurable precipitation in the area and now we have a chance. A storm system will bring clouds and rain into Sunday. Most of the rain will be to the southeast of the area and the highest chance will be in the morning:
Rainfall will be pretty light in Iowa with higher totals into Illinois and Missouri:
With the storm system passing to the south, it will be a cooler day on Sunday:
After the storm passes and the sun comes out on Monday temperatures will bounce back:
Clouds will build back in and winds pick up out of the south as another storm system moves in. Temperatures will rise a little more:
There will be the chance for rain and snow on Tuesday into Wednesday as the storm comes through. It will be rain to start:
There will be a changeover to snow Tuesday night into Wednesday:
There is still uncertainty on how much snow will fall -- though the heaviest of it looks to be to the northwest right now. Regardless, we'll take a turn back toward wintry temperatures as we end the week.
