TIME IS TICKING....

Time is running out on 2024 and on our break from winter. Over the last seven days it hasn't been pretty, but it's been very mild:

This has been a trend this year, as temperatures have been running well above normal. This year currently is running in the top FIVE warmest on record.

Here's the the top 10 warmest for the Quad Cities:

And for Cedar Rapids:

The party will be over soon as colder air arrives with the new year. Temperatures are expected to be near/below normal through the first two weeks of January:

It will start with a storm system on Monday, that will bring rain to the area in the evening:

There will be a changeover to a wintry mix or light snow into Tuesday morning. In this pattern there could be some additional chances for snow. But that will be resolved as the days go on.

For now, we enter 2025 with some colder air.
