THE MELT BEFORE THE MIX...

We have still a few more quiet days before the pattern pics back up next week. Temperatures will be running above freezing, allowing for a gradual melting of the snow. Temperatures will be back above freezing on Sunday:

And the melt will continue Monday:

A cold front will move through late Monday and lead to a cooler day on Tuesday:

A storm system will pass to the north of the area - most likely - on Wednesday:

Temperatures will go back above freezing into the 30s:

There will be another storm that comes in Wednesday night into Thursday morning that will lead to wintry precipitation further to the south:

There will be abundant moisture with this system, but the precipitation type may come in the form of a wintry mix with rain, freezing rain, some sleet and snow. There's still some question marks about the amounts and exact track of the storm. We'll keep you updated as we get closer to the system.
