THE FALL CHILL ARRIVES...
Just a little business to start with regarding my fund raising drive. I'm asking those of you that like the insights and effort that goes into this site to consider a voluntary subscription. I'm asking $12.00 dollars for a year. That's $1 dollar a month or 3 cents a blog if you consider the fact there were 450 posts issued over the past year. I need your help paying the bills if things are going to continue. I do this 365 days a year and I would deeply appreciate a donation. Click on the link if you can help or for more information. I thank you for your support and consideration.
Temperatures dropped down into the 30s and 40s Saturday morning -- marking the coolest morning of the season so far for many.

Cedar Rapids dropped down to 35 degrees, which is the coolest morning since May 8th!
Sunday morning is expected to be cool a well and there may be more frost around as winds should be lighter than Saturday morning:

This is certainly not uncommon... in fact we'd normally start to see frost in late September/early October, but summer hung on for a while. Temperatures have been pretty warm largely for the first half of October:

Now fall is moving in, but we do have some days above normal ahead still. Sunday is going to be a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine:

Temperatures will be on the mild side (for mid-October standards) to start the new week as a ridge of high pressure builds in the upper levels of the atmosphere:

Temperatures will be near 70 on Monday as a result:

Temperatures will be similar on Tuesday as well. Wednesday will be a transition day as a storm moves into the Midwest and bring a few showers to the area:

Cooler air moves back in and by Thursday the chill is back:

Stay warm!
