STORMY TO CHILLY...
The pattern is going to turn active for the week ahead. We'll also have some big temperature swings as it happens. First, as a warm front lifts north there will be some scattered showers early Monday:
As the cold front approaches there will be scattered showers and storms late Tuesday:
Some storms may be strong, especially in Minnesota/Wisconsin and northeast Iowa. Large hail is the primary threat.
There will then be more rain Wednesday:
And Thursday as the cold front stalls out/slowly moves through:
Temperatures will be mild ahead of the front and then colder air will take over. Here's the temperature trend for Cedar Rapids:
And for the Quad Cities:
More rain is possible as well over the weekend.
