STORMY TO CHILLY...
The pattern is going to turn active for the week ahead. We'll also have some big temperature swings as it happens. First, as a warm front lifts north there will be some scattered showers early Monday:

As the cold front approaches there will be scattered showers and storms late Tuesday:

Some storms may be strong, especially in Minnesota/Wisconsin and northeast Iowa. Large hail is the primary threat.

There will then be more rain Wednesday:

And Thursday as the cold front stalls out/slowly moves through:

Temperatures will be mild ahead of the front and then colder air will take over. Here's the temperature trend for Cedar Rapids:

And for the Quad Cities:

More rain is possible as well over the weekend.
