STORMY START, COOLER FINISH...
The week will start with storms by Monday morning and will finish with some below normal temperatures. a batch of storms will arrive by daybreak in eastern Iowa and head toward the Mississippi:
There will be some dry time during the day and temperatures will rise into the upper 70s and low 80s. Some additional storms will move in in the evening into the night.
There's a chance for some of those later storms to be on the stronger side with gusty winds and hail especially near and east of the Mississippi:
More storms are expected Tuesday as a cold front moves through, especially late in the day. The severe risk is 1 out of 5 again, but further west for now. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets expanded to the east:
Storms will be capable of strong winds primarily:
Cooler and drier air will be moving in behind Tuesday's front. We'll go from dew points near 70 Tuesday evening (real sticky):
To the 50s by Wednesday afternoon (pretty comfortable for June):
Temperatures will also go from being around 80 to the mid 70s, which isn't a huge change but will feel nicer with the combination of lower humidity.
