STAYING DRY....
The weather has been fairly quiet the last few days with the exception of the freezing fog. The fog has led to a lot of neat views with rime ice....
But also icy road conditions, shutting I-80 down around Iowa City for hours on Sunday as a result of a multi-vehicle crash. There may be some fog Monday morning but the higher chances seem to be in northern Iowa:
There will be a mix of sun and clouds Monday with temperatures rising above freezing:
Temperatures stay mild on Tuesday:
And once again on Wednesday:
There will be a storm system that moves through the region on Thursday, that will bring a wintry mix to portions of far southern Iowa into Missouri and Illinois:
That storm system doesn't have any connection to arctic air:
So we'll see a slight cooldown, but not any big change. In fact, a big ridge builds back in too:
That will lead to mild temperatures but also keep the storm track away -- we'll be pretty quiet over the next week. The Euro is showing little to no precipitation over the next seven days:
We'll see when the pattern breaks...
