We're continuing to melt away the snow from the latest storm with sunshine and temperatures above freezing. The melt will continue on Sunday:
The quiet, mild, sunny weather continues on Monday as well:
Temperatures remain mild on Tuesday, in the 40s, as our next storm system moves in:
As the storm passes through western Iowa, we stay solidly in the warm sector with all rain with this system into early Wednesday:
Colder air begins to move in after this storm and temperatures are back near and below freezing on Thursday:
That cold air will be in place for another storm that will move in and likely bring snow to some part of the region Thursday into Friday. The European right now has a southern track that would place more of eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois in the cold sector:
The GFS is much further north and places us in the warm sector with mainly a rain event, displacing the heavy snow further northwest.
Time will tell.. it's too far out to determine the exact track but there will be a lot of white gold somewhere in the upper Midwest later next week.
