MARCH SNOW, IT'S TASTY
PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION

A FINAL PERSONAL APPEAL
Hi all. I'm still hoping for $460 dollars to reach my fund-raising goal (I'm 97% there). Personally, I'm appealing to those of you who appreciate the reliability, honesty, accuracy, and knowledge of the site, to consider a donation, (especially if it helps with financial decisions related to your business). If you fall into any of these categories and find value in the effort put forth, I humbly ask that you make a $20 dollar investment into this unique and reliable product.
Thanks so much, T. Swails
SNOW...
Lucy never eats December snow. Apparently, it's not ripe enough. Personally, it's my favorite, especially before Christmas. One thing I will mention if you haven't tried it is late winter snow, (like many of us sees Friday). It's often plump with a sweet after-taste. I think it's due to the longer, more direct rays of the sun. Or, I could be just full of it. Anyway, if you get a chance tomorrow, check it out and remember, do not eat snow if it's yellow. Charlie Brown taught me that!

SAY IT AIN'T SO...
While the sun is out and our day is far different than yesterday, a new weather system is taking shape that will spread a band of snow across the central Midwest Friday. Low pressure will spin through Missouri Friday and lay out a baroclinic boundary over southern Iowa. Moisture will overrun it and provide the lift for a narrow swath of snow that seems destined to fall between I-80 to just north of HWY 20. Amounts will be significantly lighter further south, where some rain or a rain snow mix could occur. Little if any snow should occur over the southern third of my area. You can see the snow band on the surface depiction at noon Friday.

Temperatures at the surface will warm to the 32-34 degree range within the snow band by afternoon. That hopefully keeps roads slushy, limiting travel issues. However, there may be a period north of I-80 where snow falls heavy enough to accumulate on the roads. The far south where little precipitation falls could reach 45-50. No snowflake eating for you! Below are 2:00pm temperature depictions on the GFS

Here's the raw model output of the various snowfall forecasts. They are fairly consistent in what they are showing and clearly focused from I-80 north. It may end up that the heavier totals of 1–3 inches are found from HWY 30 to HWY 20, (the northern third of the region). The snow should be underway by daybreak, where it falls and taper off and end by early afternoon. Some light drizzle is possible at times at the tail end of the event. The NWS may put out a winter weather advisory for parts of my northern counties.

Dry weather follows for the weekend, and spring temperatures are on the way next week. The snow won't be around long, with 60s on the way. You guys in the south just might see a 70 come Tuesday! I like that party. Roll weather, and if you can spare a donation to get me to my goal, I will see to it that it's money well spent....TS
