IS THE SEARCH OVER...

NOW MORE THAN EVER I NEED YOUR HELP WITH OPERATING EXPENSES

THE FUTURE OF THE SITE DEPENDS ON YOU.

Hi everyone, as you know, TSwails.com is a no-pay site; existing on voluntary subscriptions or personal donations. If you find value in the site, I'm asking kindly that you make the donation you feel is worthy. I'm suggesting $20.00, roughly a nickel a day. Less than 5% of my readers donate, so your gift is not only appreciated, it helps immensely. Your contribution, whatever you can swing, supports the content, infrastructure, and operational costs. Thanks for anything you can do.

I'VE BEEN EXPECTING THIS...

Lately I've been lamenting the fact that teleconnections have been showing one thing and the deterministic models another. By that, I mean the teleconnections have been signaling much colder weather than the models have been showing. Something has to give and today the GFS has come up with a scenario that is more to my liking since it fits my train of thought. Feast your eyes on this surface map the night of February 18th. A massive 1054mb Arctic high is dropping into the NC United States. Strong winds and bitter cold air is being unleashed on the upper Midwest. This was not evident last night.

Sub-zero temperatures are surging across the heartland.

Sunday morning the 12th, the GFS shows wind chills of 15 to 20 below.

The MJO is headed into phases 8, 1, and 2 which get progressively colder at this time of year.

I'm wondering if this is the hot poker the crashing SOI has been hinting at. I'll have more in my next post on the latest trends and what we might be facing. Until then, roll weather...TS Additionally with my recent health issues, I very much need to reach my fund-raising goals. To keep things as they are, I'm in humble need of your donation to the site more than ever. If you use it and find value in it, please consider a contribution. Thanks to you who have already helped the cause!
