The snow is on the ground and a rush of arctic air will lead to a stretch of brutal cold. The 20s of Saturday will fade as colder air will settle in. The frigid conditions can be seen moving in, just to the northwest of Iowa as of 9 pm Saturday:

Temperatures will be steady/falling through the day Sunday:

It will be breezy with a stout 30 mph northwest wind. That will lead to some blowing snow in open areas as well as subzero wind chills through the day:

Temperatures will drop below zero Monday morning:

Wind chills will be in the teens below zero to start the new work week:

Monday will be a very cold day as a strong, arctic high pressure system moves in. That will lead to snow passing just south of the area, though some spots could be grazed by some flakes:

Temperatures will be held very close to zero Monday afternoon:

The coldest temperatures come Tuesday morning:

With some bitter wind chills:

Temperatures remain near and below zero through Friday morning with highs back in the teens Friday afternoon:

The strong high will keep snow off to the south for the week ahead as well.
