FROM TORNADOES TO SNOW....

The National Weather Service is continuing to survey the deadly tornadoes from Saturday afternoon and evening. Six people were killed in the Winterset tornado and another in a different tornado in Chariton. The NWS has confirmed at least six tornadoes -- an EF-0 and EF-1 both near Davenport, EF-1 near Vinton, EF-2 and EF-3 in south central Iowa and the Winterset tornado -- they're still working out the details on that storm, which was a long track tornado. NWS Des Moines says that tornado is at least an EF-3.

Now... around 30 hours later snow will fall in the state. Winter Weather Advisories have bee posted across much of Iowa and NW Illinois:

Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

The HRRR:

It gets a little warmer on Tuesday:

Temperatures will generally be staying cool through the middle of the month:

In that time we'll be watching another shot of snow somewhere in the Midwest on Thursday.. too soon to say where the exact track of this one will be. But winter isn't done with us yet!

PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING TSWAILS...

Hi everybody, I'm asking that those of you who find value in the site to consider a $12 dollar voluntary subscription covering operating expenses and the time and effort I put into the site. My $12 dollar asking fee is the cost of a pizza or a dozen donuts. Those are gone in a day, TSwails.com is here for you all year long. It's a heck of a value and all I'm asking is that if you enjoy the site and see value in it, that you please consider a voluntary subscription. I'm asking $12.00 dollars a year. That's $1 dollar a month or 3 cents a blog. Thank you for your support and consideration. Terry
