EVERY DROP HELPS...
We've been digging out of drought conditions after going through much of September and October with little precipitation. The pattern flipped the last two weeks and we need to keep the momentum up ahead of the winter.
It wasn't much but rain fell Saturday in the region with periodic light showers:
The week will start sunny and seasonable, but chilly. Monday will be cool as a cold front moves though with no rain:
As high pressure moves in behind the front the winds will pick up. Gusts will be around 30 mph:
High pressure will be in place Tuesday and it will be another chilly one:
Another front comes in Wednesday and brings in our next chance for rain:
There are some differences between the models on how much rain we'll see. The GFS is more ambitious with a quarter to an inch:
The Euro is showing only a tenth of an inch or so:
It's hard to say right now which one is correct, but depends on how the system comes together on Wednesday. Regardless, there will be some rain. The remainder of the week will then be dry.
A big area of high pressure will be in place and lead to quiet and mild conditions to end the week:
Hopefully we can get another round of rain to get rid of the drought conditions before the ground freezes!
