CRANKING UP THE HEAT AGAIN....
The first week of August started off with temperatures largely below normal. Not by much, but every degree counts in August!

The week started off with low humidity and since then the heat and humidity have both started to grow. It will be toasty on Monday with temperatures going above normal:

With the high humidity there will be a heat index that may top 100° in some spots:

The reason why the northeastern part of the area isn't as hot is likely due to storms moving through in the early morning hours:

There will be the chance for some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday, but right now there is a lot of uncertainty in placement, timing and intensity. Here's the latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center, showing greater severe weather chances over the Great Lakes:
