BROKEN RECORDS!

Temperatures skyrocketed on Saturday afternoon with dry air in place and strong southerly winds. Combined with the sunshine we ended up near and even at 90 degrees!

This tied the record high high temperatures in Moline and broke the record in Cedar Rapids!

The south winds helped to boost temperatures, as they remained very strong ahead of an advancing cold front. Here's a collection of the top gusts from the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities:

By Sunday, it will feel incredibly different as temperatures are held to the 60s behind a cold front: Winds will also be brisk, up to 30mph out of the NW.

Temperatures will drip dramatically toward 40 by Monday morning:

Monday afternoon will be a nice and sunny with temperatures in the low 70s:

Readings will continue to warm through the week, perhaps reaching 80 again late in the week.
